Osteoporosis is a ‘silent’ disease that shows no signs or symptoms during its early stages.

In its later stages, it may produce the following symptoms:

• back pain, especially just above and below the waist
• gradual loss of height resulting in a stooped posture, known as dowager’s hump or ‘Kyphosis’
• bone fractures, often in the hip, spine or wrist.
